However, I will include with it a small head drawing of the winning bidders dog (border collie or any breed they want) next to the signature as an "artist remarque". In the fall of 1866, cowboys and farmers gathered to participate in the first Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days. This western celebration is a tradition in the Valley every Labor Days weekend. World champion Lady Steer Roper, Lucille Mulhall, struck a pose with her beloved horse during the 1913 Walla Walla Frontier Days. This photo inspirited local artist , Mollie Fenton, to create this painting she titled "Cowgirl Crush" for the first release of the Frontier Days wine artist series. There will be five paintings and five wines. The earliest cowgirls endured long, tedious days on isolated ranches where their horse was both work partner and best friend.
